Crown her! Tennis queen Serena Williams just won her 7th Wimbledon championship (with Beyoncé & Jay Z in her player’s box), and she made history in another way too.
The intense (and amazing to watch) Wimbledon finals match ended with the 34-year-old earning every point of her 6-2, 6-0 win today on center court at London’s All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
She battled it out in a rematch of sorts against Angelique Kerber of Germany, the woman who beat her out for the 2016 Australian Open championship this past January. This time, though, Serena flexed her power and her flawlessness to nab the chip.
The fierce YBF chick also just won her 22nd major singles title (peep her reminder to the crowd above), tying Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slam titles in tennis history. We don’t see her retiring anytime before she wins #23 either. Yasss!
Beyonce, in a cute Self Portrait dress, and Jay Z joined Serena’s family in her player’s box to cheer her on before Bey’s Formation Tour tonight in Dublin. Ellen Degeneres, her wife Portia, Vera Wang and Uzo Aduba were all at the match as well cheering on the champ.
